Addis Ababa, December 4, 2017 (FBC) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, met with Nigerian tycoon investor, Aliko Dangote, in Abuja Nigeria today.
Mr. Aliko Dangote noted that the various developmental projects in Ethiopia make the country a beautiful bride to foreign investors.
He underscored the need to support the private sector in Africa to witness a genuine and inclusive economic development across the continent.
Commending the renowned investor for his significant contribution to Ethiopia’s economic growth, Dr. Workeneh assured Mr. Dangote of his government’s continued support to his giant cement plant back home.
Two years ago, Dangote, Africa’s richest man, inaugurated a 500 million US dollars cement plant in Ethiopia,.
The cement plant has an installed capacity of 2.5 million metric tonnes per annum.
The plant is located in Mugher, about 80 kilometers from Addis Ababa.
Dangote, who owns the Dangote Group, also plans to diversify its investments in Ethiopia.
The Group is ready to set up two companies which will be engaged in sugar investment and the other for producing cement bags.
Aliko Dangote is Africa’s richest man with a fortune estimated at 14.6 billion US dollars, according to Forbes.
